“Fat is actually not a bad word. We’re the ones who put the power into the word... At the end of day, fat is something that we all have. It’s natural. It’s a descriptor. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.” - Tash Ngindi, Nutritionist

In this week’s episode Hannah and Ali talk all things fat positivity. Understanding how important it is to listen and learn from those in the fat positive community, Hannah and Ali asked the fabulous Tash Nigindi from @thethicknutritionist to join this episode. Tash is a non-diet nutritionist, body supportive Zumba instructor and a former crash dieter who uses her story with recovering from diet culture and embracing her body to answer all your questions on social media, race and reclaiming the word fat.

  • Do social media filters perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards? Is calling someone fat an insult?

  • Are the BMI cutoffs rooted in racism?

  • Can you be healthy if your body is outside the normal BMI range?

There was no better collab than bringing on the sassy, hilarious fellow Canadian Tash Nigindi to tackle this topic. There were lightbulb moments and of course a ton of laughs as Tash takes a one, two punch to diet culture and dances with self-acceptance all over this episode.
